Quality & Production Take Off Sewing men’s slacks? Topstitch a perfect “J” on the left fly each time, every time with the 2800E5J from Union Special. This semi-automatic sewing station is easy to operate, and utilizes the Juki DDL8500H7 sewing head for a quality locked stitch. The work loads into a feeding clamp that’s guided along a pre-programmed curve. So every left fly piece looks identical, and the stitching stays parallel to the left side. The 2800E5J is easy to use—no sewing skills are necessary. All the operator does is load the fly and press the two-position treadle. The clamp lowers, and the machine back tacks if desired at the start, then sews to a pre-selected point or to the end of the fly, stops, backtacks if required, and finally cuts the threads. The clamp then lifts, and returns to the starting position. Production per 8-hour shift can range from 1500 to 2000 pieces without back tack, or 1400 to 1850 pieces with back tack. Operator training time is about one hour, with a high level of production within about one week. |
Production changeovers aren’t a problem with the 2800E5J. Since the work clamp does the feeding, conventional feeding is eliminated and so knit or woven materials can be handled without any adjustments. And because the unit features an electric eye stopping mechanism, different fly lengths require no adjustment as well. An option that increases productivity is available: the 2899UL Unloader. This device allows the operator to unload the already sewn panel and prepare another for loading while machine is sewing. Increase your quality and production—get the 2800E5J for your trousers operation today.
