MORE PARTS FOR SEWING
LIGHTWEIGHT MATERIAL ON 35800

Union Special Machine Company now has available 9 gauge (3.6mm) as well as 8 gauge (3.2mm) sewing parts for sewing lightweight (6–10oz.) material on 35800 machine styles. 

Both these sets of sewing parts are for use with a narrow .468” (11.9mm) width roller. The throat plate, presser foot and feed dog each utilize a flat design rather than the normal stepped design. Also, the feed dog is made with 16 teeth per inch for feeding of the lightweight material with less chance of marking. Additional parts for sewing the lightweight materials include a new design presser bar knob, a .468” (11.9mm) width rubber roller, and lap seam folders.

The design of the feed dog is such that it can be used in plain feed (35800 BQW, BWDR, DRU, DRW, PZ) machines as well as differential feed (35800 BLW, BWDN, DNU, DZ) machines. For differential feed machines, the new feed dog is used on the main feed bar and a differential feed dog is not used.

NOTE: These parts should not be used on the extra-high feed lift 35800 BWW and DWW series machines unless the feed lift eccentric assembly is also changed.

Union Special currently does not offer 35800 styles factory-fitted with these parts, but may in the future.
