Place a few drops of oil
in the oil cup, Figure 10, and also
fill the oil sight feeder gauge. Do not put oil in the right gauge.
It is for thread lubricants.
-
Remove the two plug
screws found on the bottom of
the machine and drain the old oil from the machine. Replace the two plug
screws and remove the plug screw on the back right,

at the proper level.
Once the machine has been thoroughly
cleaned and properly oiled, it is advisable to run the machine for a few
minutes to allow the wicks to distribute the oil.

Check the tension
assemblies for wear,
Figure 12,
and replace as necessary. Also check the needles, needle head,
loopers, throat plate, presser
foot, feed dog and needle guard for wear and replace as
necessary.
With regular maintenance
every 6 months or 2000 operation
hours on the Class 38200 Samson, and your other sewing equipment, these
machines will give you years of trouble-free performance.
