1. Place a few drops of oil in each of the oil cups, Figure 9.
     

  2. Place a few drops of oil in the oil cup, Figure 10, and also fill the oil sight feeder gauge. Do not put oil in the right gauge. It is for thread lubricants.
     

  3. Remove the two plug screws found on the bottom of the machine and drain the old oil from the machine. Replace the two plug screws and remove the plug screw on the back right, Figure 11, and fill the reservoir until oil is at the proper level.  Once the machine has been thoroughly cleaned and properly oiled, it is advisable to run the machine for a few minutes to allow the wicks to distribute the oil.
     

  4. Check the tension assemblies for wear, Figure 12, and replace as necessary. Also check the needles, needle head, loopers, throat plate, presser foot, feed dog and needle guard for wear and replace as necessary.

With regular maintenance every 6 months or 2000 operation hours on the Class 38200 Samson, and your other sewing equipment, these machines will give you years of trouble-free performance.
