Changing The Looper Drive Belt (50342CH) Reassembly

  1. Slide the new looper drive belt through the opening between the lower main shafts.

  1. Within the feed chamber insert a .005" (.127mm) between each feed lift eccentric and the feedbar assembly slide block.

  1. Insure the flats on the lower main shafts align with each other. Then return the main shaft coupling to its original position. Gently thrust the lower left main shaft to the left with the shims shown in step 2 still in place. Secure the first screws in operating direction on the flats on the lower main shafts. The shims will insure the lower left main shaft has been returned to it’s original position. Then remove the shims and secure the other two screws.

  1. Place the looper driven sprocket as far to the left as it will go on the looper drive assembly. Secure the two screws in the driven sprocket.

  1. Place the looper drive belt onto the looper drive sprocket. Then slide the belt onto the looper driven sprocket. It is very important that this is done with as little belt tension as possible set in the looper drive module (as explained in step 2 on disassembly). If the belt is forced on, the integrity of the belt will be damaged and the life of the belt will be greatly shortened.

  1. Secure the first screw in operating direction in the looper drive sprocket to the flat on the lower left main shaft.
