NEW SEWING MACHINE LIGHT FOR 35800 & 36200 SERIES MACHINES

Proper lighting of the sewing area on the equipment is important for the operator to produce consistent quality products.  Poor lighting can cause operator fatigue, improper threading, mismatching of material plies and lost production.  To help reduce some of these problems, Union Special Corporation has released a new halogen light kit 21233ST for its 35800 and 36200 pedestal mounted feed off the arm machines.

The new light replaces standard light 21233KD and features a cooler shade, improved flexible light shaft and adjustable light stud bracket for mounting to the Union Special Corporation 1400CA and 1400KA pedestals.

The light can be easily mounted to the pedestal by removing the nut and bolt from the belt guard and replacing it with light stud, nut & washers assembly 21233SU, included in kit.  Fig. 1.  The light clamp and light are then attached to the stud and adjusted to the operator’s preference.  The light kit also includes a transformer that steps down the voltage to 12VAC.  It is recommended to mount the transformer to the switch box plate, and wire it into the switch.  Two screws 22635C12 are included with the transformer and will require drilling 2 holes in the plate and then tapping the holes with a 6-32 thread tap.  The transformer can also be mounted to the table board or elsewhere if necessary.

Don’t keep you operators in the dark!  Order a new light kit for them and see what it does for you and your mechanic.
