FS300/MF7000 Beginning with May 2000 (serial # DE) production, all FS300 and MF7000 series flatbed machines will have the ability to sew a longer stitch. Both the main and differential feed can be adjusted independently to achieve a longer stitch. One of the main advantages of this is that the differential feed will be able to gather more than with previous styles, allowing stretchy material to lie flat after being sewn. The increase in both the main and differential feed is about 60%. Mechanically the maximum machine speed is 5000 rpm at the longest stitch achievable. (As long as the stitch range is maintained within the sewing specifications, the maximum machine speed does not change and is what is shown on the sewing specifications.) The capability of the machine to make a longer stitch is limited to the sewing parts. If the machine is to be used at a stitch range longer than the sewing parts will allow, then sewing parts will have to be modified, such as shortening the feed dogs. With both feed travels maximized on an H01 machine, the stitch length achieved was 5.6mm (4.5 SPI) on knit material once the feed dogs had been modified. Main Feed Travel

All machines will be sewn off to the specifications as they are today. To set the machine to a longer stitch, stops 50335D (main stitch) and 50337U (differential stitch) will have to be moved. This is the customer's responsibility as sewing parts may need to be modified.
